Big Woodchuck Solar Observatory!

Mercury Transit - November 8th, 2006:

Well, despite a couple of sucker holes, it was pretty much a wash-out at Mingo. A total of 11 AAAP members were there at throughout the day, along with 6 visitors. Several of us set up our telescopes, only to have to cover them for most of the day. (several periods of very low flying damp clouds). We did play a few 'solar' related videos on the big TV, and watched the Venus Transit from 2004, filmed at Wagman. We traded phone calls with Wagman Observatory and commiserated about the lack of clear skies. Oh well, maybe we'll have better luck next time!
